Occupational Safety & MESA Membership
MESA's Mission Statement
To provide an opportunity for persons with responsibilities in the area of safety and health to interact, share ideas for continuous improvement, further educate and develop its members, and to promote the awareness of safety in the community.
Industrial Manufacturing Companies, Construction Companies and any other employer in northwest Missouri, responsible for complying with standards set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) of 1970 are encouraged to become members of the St. Joseph Safety and Health Council’s MESA.

MESA is a committee of the St. Joseph Safety and Health Council, comprised of safety professionals working in St. Joseph and surrounding areas.
Members convene on a regular basis to discuss relevant safety issues within their facilities, and tours or programs are often incorporated into the meetings as an opportunity for professional development.

Meetings take place usually on the third Thursday, every other month (except during the summer months) beginning at 11:30 a.m., and are held at various locations around the St. Joseph community.
*each participant will be responsible for their own meals during MESA meetings, unless specified.

The Breakfast series provides safety professionals and others an opportunity to share breakfast and learn about different occupations safety issues.
Programs are scheduled for the first Thursday of every other month starting at 7:30 a.m.
They are conducted at the St. Joseph Safety & Health Council, located at 3131 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph, MO.
There is no costs for the Safety Council Occupational Safety and MESA members to attend (please limit two attendees per company). Non-members and additional members employees will be charged $20 each participant.

Any company or business concerned with the safety and health of their employees may become a member of the St. Joseph Safety and Health Council's MESA.

Yearly membership dues are determined based on the number of employees of each individual company. Below is the fee structure for 2024 membership.
1-20 Employees - $250.00
21-50 Employees - $325.00
51-100 Employees - $375.00
101-200 Employees - $400.00
201-500 Employees - $450.00
501+ Employees - $500.00
Non-profit United Way Partner Agencies - $250.00
