Occupational Safety Service Agreement
The Council offers an annual Occupational Safety Service Agreement to businesses and industries for a low fee determined by the number of company employees.

Seminars and Workshops
The Safety Council offers workshops and seminars that assist businesses and industries in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. Workshop topics have included Confined Space Entry/Rescue, OSHA Recordkeeping, Lockout/Tagout, Ergonomics, Workers Comp, Supervisor Training, Conducting Safety Audits, and OSHA 10-hour Course. Workshop fees vary but Occupational Safety Service Agreement affiliates receive a substantial discount.

Prevention of Back Strain and Injury/ Material Handling
One out of four adults in their lifetime will received a back strain or injury severe enough to cause lost work days. The Safety Council’s Back Strain and Injury Prevention Program will inform employees about good body mechanics and correct lifting procedures. Call for pricing.

Forklift Refresher Course
The Forklift Refresher Course is for those employees who have completed the 4-hour “Coaching the Lift Truck Operator” class. It is recommended forklift operators take the refresher course every three years. Class fees:
$45 affiliate—$60 non-affiliate.

National Safety Council’s 4-hour “Coaching the Lift Truck Operator” Course
The OSHA standard 1910.178 states “only trained and authorized operators shall be permitted to operate a powered industrial truck.” It is the responsibility of the employer to devise a program to train lift truck operators in a safe operation of equipment. This program helps companies meet the classroom portion of the standard and provides information on correct lifting procedures to avoid back strain and/or injury. Class fees:
$75 affiliate—$99 non-affiliate.

Hazard Recognition
Whether hazards exist because of inadequate illumination, poor identification, bad visibility or camouflage, the Hazard Recognition program will assist management, supervisors, and employees in identifying hazards within their work-site. Through the eye of a 35 mm camera, a general walk-through safety audit is completed. A training program is presented later to management, supervisors, and employees utilizing generic slides showing various types of safety hazards. Employees are then taken through their own plant visually, slide by slide, reviewing the recently completed safety audit. Call for pricing.

An effective safety program is one that reduces losses. Thorough accident investigation is a key component of a successful safety program. Investigation prevents accidents from recurring and is critical in the ultimate reduction of insurance premiums, lost work time, and lost profits. National Safety Council’s 4-Hour Defensive Driving Course
This fast-paced driver improvement program makes an ideal refresher course for your employees. The DDC-4 offers practical strategies to reduce collision-related injuries, fatalities, and costs. It addresses the importance of attitude in preventing accidents and reinforces the good driving skills students already have. Class fees:
$75 affiliate—$95 non-affiliate.
